The best part is, they’re easy to make and fit perfectly into my keto way of eating with little to no adjustments as they contain only 6.3 net carbs per serving!
How Do I make fajita seasoning?
If you’d prefer to make your own fajita seasoning blend rather than resorting to use fajita packets due to additives, then you can learn how here. I make a homemade fajita seasoning with salt, a sweetener of choice, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, cumin and oregano. Mix those together in a bowl and vwa-lah!
Ingredients to make keto chicken fajitas
- 3 large bell peppers
- 1 large red onion
- 2 tbsp fajita seasoning
- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lb of chicken breasts)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
How to make flavorful keto fajitas
To start, heat up the olive oil in a non stick skillet on medium heat.
Then prepare the ingredients by first slicing the chicken breasts. Next, add the fajita seasoning mix into the bowl which contains the sliced chicken breasts.
Then mix this in until every piece of chicken is properly coated and let sit while you prepare the other ingredients.
Then slice the bell peppers and onions.
Next, cook the chicken strips for 5 – 7 minutes on each side, then remove from the skillet.
In that same skillet, add the chopped vegetables and cook for 3 – 4 minutes.
Add the cooked chicken into the cooked fajita veggies and mix well.
Remove from the heat and serve with avocado slices or guacamole, pico de gallo, tortillas and a creamy dressing of your choice.
What to serve with low carb chicken fajitas
Low carb fajitas can be served with salsa, fresh tomatoes, lettuce, dressings, sour cream, avocado, guacamole and shredded cheese pilled on top of keto tortillas.
