How do You Satisfy a Sweet Tooth on Keto?
There are many ways to satisfy a sweet tooth on keto. You can choose to make so many yummy keto desserts including this delicious chocolate frosty recipe made with just a few ingredients.
Tips to Make the Best Keto Frosty Recipe
Before you begin, here are a few tips you can use when making the recipe:
- For the best results, make sure you’re using a good sugar-free peanut butter. I usually go with my homemade keto peanut butter, but I get that not everyone wants to make their own. If you’re looking for a great store-bought option, I highly recommend picking up Justin’s Sugar-Free Peanut Butter on Amazon—it’s creamy, clean, and makes keto life so much easier.
This is my go-to creamy peanut butter for keto smoothies, snacks, and sauces! It’s super smooth, no-stir, and made with clean ingredients!
- Use chilled heavy cream for this recipe as chilled heavy cream from the fridge is best for whipping. If your heavy cream is at room temperature you may get a liquid frosty which you do not want. You should also chill your mixing bowl before whipping the cream.
- In order to avoid issues when serving, you can transfer the whipped frosty to a zip-lock bag and freeze it for 30-40 minutes. Then cut the end of the zip lock bag and pipe out the chocolate frosty into serving bowls or your mason jars.
Ingredients to Make Chocolate Frosty
Only a few ingredients are needed to make this low carb frosty recipe. They are:
- 1 cup of heavy cream, chilled
- 2 Tablespoons Sugar Free Peanut Butter (I recommend this creamy natural peanut butter that’s made with just peanuts and salt.)
- 1 Tablespoon Unsweetened Cocoa powder (this Dutch-process cocoa powder makes your frosty taste rich and decadent.)
- 1 Tablespoon Keto Sweetener (try this amazing keto sugar substitute.)
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract, optional
Tools to Make this Recipe
- Mason jars – These are perfect for serving this keto frosty. You can use a 12 or 16 oz mason jar to mix the ingredients (with a good shake or with an immersion blender.) But, the recipe makes 2 small servings of frosty (1/2 cup each) so you need smaller mason jars like these 5oz mason jars for serving.
- Mixing bowls -You need these to measure out your ingredients and to mix the frosty.
- Hand mixer – If you’re making the frosty in a large mixing bowl (like I did) then a good hand mixer is a great tool to use to get all the ingredients properly mixed. Using a powerful hand mixer like this one will help you achieve that perfect thick, frosty texture.
- Measuring cups and spoons – You need accurate measurements for the ingredients so everything tastes perfect! These are the measuring cups and spoons I always use and recommend to everyone!
- Immersion blender (optional) – I did not use an immersion blender at the time of making this recipe for the blog. However, I’ve since gotten one and I can tell you it is hands down the best way to make a good keto frosty right inside of a mason jar! If you need a good immersion blender, this is a great one I recommend on Amazon.
- Blender (optional) – If you don’t want to shake to mix, use a hand mixer or and immersion blender, then you can simply add all the ingredients to a high-powdered blender like this one for that smooth, thick frosty texture.

Keep in mind that if you plan to enjoy this as a frosty, you should not freeze it as ice crystals will form and once thawed the frosty may just separate. Otherwise, you can also make frosty bites in a silicone ice cube tray, freeze them, and toss a few into your bulletproof coffee.
