My Flavorful Ramen Beef Seasoning
I thoroughly enjoy making my own seasoning blends, and this is so because I try my best to try to try to avoid the common preservatives found in store-bought seasoning mixes. Also, because sometimes, I prefer the freshness of homemade spice mixes. But, also, I just like making my own because I like knowing what in my food, and mixing seasonings together is the easiest thing ever!
My family loves recipes with ramen noodles. They’re easy, delicious, and the quickest thing to make when there’s nothing else prepared to eat. And while I know they’re not the healthiest thing to eat, I always find myself grabbing a few packs when I go grocery shopping—so, meh, we’re snacking on them more than I’d like.
However, I’m not a fan of using prepackaged ramen seasoning sachets. That’s why this super duper, uncomplicated homemade beef ramen seasoning mix has become a kitchen must have in my kitchen. I prepare it and store it in a container, to make sure it’s readily accessible for anyone looking to make a beef-flavored ramen dish at anytime.
I personally like to make a fresh batch every two – four weeks, simply because I like cooking with the freshest dry herbs and spices.

This easy beef ramen seasoning recipe is made using simple ingredients like beef bouillon, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and some other spices you are likely to have in your spice cabinet like ginger, black pepper and thyme. The best part? It takes only 5 minutes to whip up a fresh batch!

How to make beef ramen seasoning
Gather Your Ingredients: Make sure you have all the necessary ingredients ready and measured out.

Combine the Ingredients: In a small bowl, plate, or airtight container, combine the beef bouillon powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, ground cumin, black pepper, dried thyme, and salt.

Mix Thoroughly: Use a whisk, spoon, or fork to thoroughly mix all the ingredients. Ensure that the seasoning is well blended, so you don’t get clumps of one particular spice when you use it.

You may need to use a spice grinder or mortar and pestle to grind the spices. This is because some brands of beef bullion cubes tend to clump together.
This is my go-to brand whenever a recipe calls for beef bouillon cubes.
🧂 How to store Beef Ramen Seasoning (or Any Homemade Spice Mix)
Storing your DIY ramen beef seasoning properly is an essential step you need to follow if you want to keep it fresh and maintain its flavor over time. Here are some tips and tricks I use when it comes to storing my homemade beef ramen seasoning—or honestly, any random spice mix I throw together.
1. Use an Airtight Container
Once you’ve made your seasoning, transfer it to an airtight container right away.
You’ve got a few options here:
- Small glass jars
- Plastic containers with tight-fitting lids
- Ziplock bags (if you’re in a pinch)
The main goal? Keep air and moisture out so your spice blend doesn’t lose its flavor.
2. My Favorite Storage Hack: Spice Jars from Amazon
I highly recommend grabbing this 24-pack of spice jars from Amazon. It comes with:
- 24 empty 4 oz. square glass jars
- 398 pre-printed & blank labels
- 24 shaker lids
- A funnel, a brush, and a marker
These are perfect for organizing all your seasonings in a way that actually looks good in your kitchen!
Why I Love These Jars
I’m a bit of an organization freak, so having everything in matching jars makes me weirdly happy.
Plus, I much prefer making smaller batches of spice blends—just enough for regular use so I get to enjoy fresh flavors always. These jars are the perfect size for that.
Bonus Tip: Label Everything!
Whether you’re using the jars I mentioned or your own setup, always label your spice mixes with the name and date you made them. Trust me, it saves you from playing the “wait…what was this again?” guessing game later.
Place in a Cool, Dry Place: Store the spice mix in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. A pantry or kitchen cabinet is usually a suitable location. Avoid storing it near the stove or oven, as the heat and humidity can affect the quality of the seasoning. I hate when my spices clump together and I’ve found that they tend to do that a lot if stored next to my stove.
Avoid Refrigeration: It’s generally not necessary to refrigerate beef ramen seasoning. In fact, refrigeration can introduce moisture, which can lead to clumping and spoil the seasoning faster. Keep it at room temperature for the best results.
Use Within a Reasonable Timeframe: While homemade spice blends can last for several months to a year and sometimes more, it’s best to use your beef ramen seasoning within six months to ensure the freshest flavor. I’ve said it above, but I prefer to make small batches and use that up within a month. It’s so easy to whip up so I have no issues with making a batch once or twice a month!
How to use
To use your homemade beef ramen seasoning, simply add it to your beef ramen dishes. Start with a teaspoon or two and adjust the quantity according to your preference. You can use it to season the broth or sprinkle it on top of your ramen just before serving. If you want a beef flavored ramen recipe, try some in my easy no seasoning ramen noodles.
Beyond just ramen noodles, beef ramen seasoning can also be used to make:
- Stir-Fry: Use the beef ramen seasoning as a seasoning mix for your stir-fry.
- Marinade: Create a marinade for beef, chicken, or even pork- I know it’s weird but it actually taste good – by mixing the seasoning with some oil, soy sauce, and a bit of honey. Let your meat soak in this mixture for a few hours before grilling or baking.
- Popcorn Seasoning: Sprinkle the beef ramen seasoning over freshly popped popcorn.
- Roasted Vegetables: Toss your favorite vegetables with a little oil and the beef ramen seasoning before roasting them. They’ll taste amazing!
- Potato Wedges: Season potato wedges with the beef ramen seasoning before baking.
- Sauces and Dips: Mix the seasoning into sauces and dips like mayonnaise, ketchup, or yogurt to give them some of that beefy flavor.
- Homemade Burgers: Add a teaspoon or two of the beef ramen seasoning into your burger patty mixture
- Salad Dressing: You can make a beefy salad dressing by mixing the seasoning with some olive oil, vinegar, and a touch of honey or mustard.
